Ram / Challenger Tour Themes

Themes are always fun AND tough. Hey could you do Kacha and I a favor and weigh in on the following theme concepts? We need to pitch the top three or four to the Chrysler client tomorrow morning. Also, if you have a new theme to throw into the mix, please do. Please comment by 3:30 ET. If you haven't participated in the Blog yet — Here's your chance!

Here goes (In no particular order):

Brains & Brawn

Don’t Look Back

Dream Driveway

More Than Power

Power to the Pavement

Out-Tough, Out-Smart

More than Muscle

The Declaration of Dominance

American Truck, American Muscle

One-Two Punch

Hang-On & Haul

Ain’t No Comeback

The Brains… The Brawn… The Brand

I think a lot of these are really awesome.
I started commenting on each theme, but then thought I might seem negative, so I put some of my favs at the top and some of my not so favs at the bottom. Hope this helps.

Old School… New Rules
Like it

The Declaration of Dominance
Like it

American Truck, American Muscle
Like it

One-Two Punch
Like it – You know how people say “the old one-two punch”. We could say “the new one-two punch”. Though I don’t know if people would get it initially.

The Legends Reborn
Like it

Dream Driveway
I like this one.
I picture a house with a brand new shiny Ram and Challenger in the driveway.
It’s something someone would want to come home to.

Brains & Brawn
I don't care for this one because I picture a nerd and a bully.

Don’t Look Back
To me, this one sort of implies that the past wasn't good. Whereas we want to say the past was good, but the present is better.

Ain’t No Comeback

The Brains… The Brawn… The Brand
To me this implies that one vehicle has the brains, the other car has the brawn. I want a vehicle with both.

Shock and Awe
This seems to relate to Challenger more then Ram

More Than Power
More Than Muscle
These two seem not to say enough for me.

Out-Tough, Out-Smart

Hang-On & Haul

I commented on the ones that struck me.

The Declaration of Dominance

This one is strong. It's Tough, it's America, It's got good tempo.

-------------------------------------------------------
Shock and Awe

I would stay away from Shock and Awe. It relates to people dying in war.

A few stick out to me when I think of a theme for this tour.

Dream Driveway (makes me think of the Dream Cruise)

The Declaration of Dominance (totally agree with what Rob mentioned below)

Hang-On & Haul (seems fitting)

The Legends Reborn (2 legendary vehicles)

Okay, when I look over these possible themes there are two that stood out to me:

The Legends Reborn – both are originals, but redone and up-to-date

Hang-On & Haul – works in more than one aspect, which I like

Some comments on others:

Power to the Pavement – can the Ram go off-road?

The Declaration of Dominance – kind of like the idea, but seems like a mouthful to say

“Shock and Awe” – I would definitely stay away from this. Isn’t that what they called the initial air strikes over in Iraq? Could have negative connotations

American Truck, American Muscle – too generic, could almost work for any brand

I like Hang-On & Haul and The Legends Reborn, kinda wanted to follow the whole renaissance theme, but i guess it applies more to challenger than ram. One-Two Punch makes me think that one of them is a sidekick to the other.

Punishing Pavement

Enjoy the Road

Double Trouble

The Fire and the Flame

The Rebirth of Muscle

Packin' Heat

Street Smarts

Essence/Icons of Intimidation

Thunder and Lightning

My top 3 would be:

1. Dream Driveway
It paints a great picture of the vehicles everyone wants to see in their own driveway. You know, the kind of vehicles that the neighbor will drool over and incessantly bug you to let them drive.

2. One-Two Punch
Lots of energy inherent in this one, plus it has that in-your-face feel. Just saying it doesn't do much, but when combined with a cool logo and driving music it packs a heck of a "punch," no pun intended.

3. Shock and Awe
Although this phrase could have a negative connotation due to its use at the onset of the Iraq War, the phrase alone could have multiple meanings. It could imply that salespeople and customers alike will be "shocked" by Ram and "awed" by the extent of improvements. Conversely, it could be interpreted as Ram and Challenger "shock" and "awe" in their own respective ways.

Here are my top picks:

1. The Legends Reborn. Maybe a bit generic, but it works -- and lends a "mystical" theme

2. The Declaration of Dominance. Sounds tough and American.

I would definitely stay away from "Shock and Awe." And "Dream Driveway," the other top pick around here, sounds a bit too much like a Barbie Dreamhouse. Doesn't seem tough to me.

A lot of these ideas sound really good, but the ones that stand out to me the most are One-Two Punch

Old School… New Rules..... I really like this idea because it seems more modern

Hang-On & Haul, I like this one because it sounds a lot of fun

The Legends Reborn, I like this idea and I believe a lot of people would find it catchy however its seems to traditional as well

One-Two Punch, this one stays in my head however I don't think it is as catchy as the other two

Ain’t No Comeback, I also like this one because it sounds dominating and powerful
